Ms. Terry leverages several decades of experience as an expert in the field of education. Specializing in the Montessori methodology of teaching, she has operated as a Montessori directress at S.D. Spady Elementary School since 2019, where she acts as a lead teacher for her students. Additionally, she continues to serve as a preschool teacher for the larger School District of Palm Beach County, having originally joined the organization in 2014. Ms. Terry originally began her career in 1988, working as a teacher for the Miami-Dade County Public Schools until 2004. As part of her commitment to her profession, she also remains active as a member of the Early Learning Coalition and the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
Prior to embarking on her vocational journey, Ms. Terry pursued a formal education at the Bethune-Cookman University, where she earned a Bachelor of Education in elementary education and teaching in 1987. She subsequently continued her studies and earned master’s degrees in her field in 1989 and 2009. In addition to her academic credentials, she also holds a reading endorsement certification, a projector child facilitator’s certificate and Montessori credentials. In light of her fulfilling career, Ms. Terry is most notably proud of her own literacy, in terms of working with children and understanding their needs to learn. In the coming years, she looks forward to conducting more workshops and training sessions for like-minded educators.
