Susan Mary Livesay, Teacher at Guymon Public Schools, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in elementary education.
With nearly 50 years of experience to her credit, Ms. Livesay has excelled as a substitute teacher with Guymon Public Schools since 2017. Prior to this position, she served as a teacher with the aforementioned school district between 1975 and 2015. Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Livesay pursued an education at Oklahoma Panhandle State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Education in elementary education in 1975.
Beyond her primary responsibilities within the field, Ms. Livesay remains associated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. Notably, she has been affiliated with the Oklahoma Education Association as a longstanding member. Furthermore, Ms. Livesay has been active as a member of the National Education Association.
Ms. Livesay attributes much of her success to the principals with whom she has worked, especially Ms. Melissa Watson, who had an unconventional yet fun approach to inspiring her faculty. A native of Guymon, Oklahoma, she was initially drawn to her field by her inherent desire to become a part of her local education system. Further motivated by her experiences with a second-grade teacher, Ms. Livesay began her 40-year career by teaching second grade by the same token.
Ms. Livesay has also been incredibly dedicated to her family, including her loving husband of more than 50 years, Darrel. Likewise, she is proud of her two wonderful daughters, her 6 amazing grandchildren and her two fantastic great-granddaughters. Looking toward the future, Ms. Livesay hopes to devote her time to traveling with her husband while continuously visiting her growing family.
