Robin Robinson McCardell, Fourth Grade Elementary Teacher at Malakoff Elementary School, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in elementary education.

Ms. McCardell has known since she was five years old that she wanted to become teacher. She recalls her first day of kindergarten, she became overwhelmed by the new environment, and burst into tears. Her teacher approached her in a calm and reassuring manner, which allowed her to feel safe and know that everything was going to be okay. In that moment, she knew she wanted to be able to do the same thing for other children when she grew up. Achieving her childhood goals, Ms. McCardell went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Houston-Clear Lake in 2006, opening the door to a career in education.

Backed by 16 years of teaching experience, Ms. McCardell currently excels as a fourth grade teacher at Malakoff Elementary School in Malakoff, Texas. Enjoying her various tasks, including classroom management and building relationships, she notes the most rewarding aspect of her work is watching her students have “aha” moments and exuding their pride upon grasping new topics. In addition to her primary responsibilities as an educator, she has also served as the secretary of the Malakoff Elementary District-Wide Improvement Team since 2018, having previously been a UIL coordinator and leader of the school theater club. Looking toward the future, Ms. McCardell plans to attain a master’s degree in counseling and continue living life to the fullest, embracing every moment and appreciating the people around her.
