With nearly 40 years of experience to her credit, Dr. Rhodes-Sanders has excelled as an educational diagnostician and evaluation specialist for the Fort Worth Independent School District since 2002. She previously served as an inclusion facilitator for Castleberry Independent School District between 1994 and 2002. Moreover, Dr. Rhodes-Sanders was active as a special education teacher for both the Texarkana Independent School District and Pleasant Grove Independent School District between 1984 and 1994.

Before embarking on her professional path, Dr. Rhodes-Sanders pursued a formal education, earning a Bachelor of Science in special education in 1969. She continued her academic efforts with a master’s degree in special education within the education and teaching of individuals in elementary special education programs from Prairie View A&M University and East Texas State University in 1978. Dr. Rhodes-Sanders concluded her studies at Texas Wesleyan University in 2022, graduating with a Doctor of Education in curriculum and instruction.

In addition to her primary vocation, Dr. Rhodes-Sanders remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise, including the Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society. Among the many highlights of her career, she is incredibly proud to have worked in every area of her certifications for special education. Noted as the only educator in her family, Dr. Rhodes-Sanders is grateful to have published her dissertation and dedicated her career to helping those with specific learning disabilities gain the education they deserve.

Currently fostering the careers of her children, Dr. Rhodes-Sanders cites her mother as her mentor, as she had always encouraged her to prioritize her education. Additionally, she has been greatly inspired by her faith throughout her 30 years in the field of education. Looking toward the future, Dr. Rhodes-Sanders hopes to dedicate her time and attention to subcontracting and writing upon her well-deserved retirement.
