Jennifer Fowler Vaida, Middle School Teacher at Sacred Heart Schools, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in education.
Since 2004, Ms. Vaida has excelled as a middle school teacher with Sacred Heart Schools. In this role, she teaches seventh grade history, which covers medieval world history. In addition to her primary teaching position, she helps with an after-school enrichment program for students who need extra support in English language arts and writing. Ms. Vaida attributes her success to her colleagues, students, and the educational professionals who inspired her and paved the way for her success. Among her myriad career accomplishments, she considers being named a teaching fellow with the Bay Area Writing Project her most notable achievement.
In preparation for her career, Ms. Vaida attended the College of Wooster, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1987 and earned departmental honors in English. She continued her higher education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, obtaining a Master of Arts in English in 1991. In 2012, Ms. Vaida completed an Educational Specialist degree in curriculum, instruction and professional development, and in 2014, she became a Certified Life Coach. To keep abreast of developments in her field, she is a member of the National Council for the Social Studies, the California Social Studies Project, and the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. In the coming years, Ms. Vaida hopes to bring awareness to a fairer way of teaching and assessing students. She also hopes to continue working on her writing.
