Barbara Anne Gamage, retired teacher from Cumberland County High School, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of academics.
Bolstered by over 30 years of experience, Ms. Gamage is a proven expert in the field of education. For much of her career, she operated as a teacher in Cumberland County, Virginia, primarily at Cumberland County High School, where she specialized in English, economics and child care. In her other professional endeavors, she served as a magistrate for five districts of her county for 10 years. Prior to embarking on her vocational journey, Ms. Gamage cultivated her own formal education, ultimately earning a Master of Education at Longwood College (now Longwood University) in 1962.
Now retired, Ms. Gamage remains active in her community as a civic-minded citizen. To wit, she manages and oversees yearly Christmas Parades, maintains a lifetime membership with Ruritan National Inc., and regularly participates at her local church. Well-regarded for her professional accomplishments, she was previously inducted into the Cumberland County High School Hall of Fame. In light of her fulfilling career, Ms. Gamage has largely attributed her success to her love for helping others and teaching and guiding young students.
