Shaaban Kamel Mohamed, a professor of chemistry at Manchester Metropolitan University, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of chemistry.
With more than three decades of practiced expertise in bio-organic chemistry to his credit, Mr. Mohamed has distinguished himself as a professor at Manchester Metropolitan University. In this capacity, he is most proud to have taken his research in conventional organic synthesis to the realm of mainstream pharmaceutical and medicinal chemistry, and to have established a reputation for open collaboration with colleagues from many academic institutions throughout the world. Prior to his work at Manchester Metropolitan, Mr. Mohamed served in similar roles at Minia University in Egypt and at the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology.
Before embarking upon his career journey, Mr. Mohamed studied chemistry at Minia University, from which he received a Bachelor of Science in 1984 and a Master of Science in 1989. Since then, he has become well-regarded for his scholarly output in the form of articles that have appeared in such scientific publications as the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, Applied Organometallic Chemistry, Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Current Chemistry Letters and the Journal of Molecular Structure, to name only a few. Likewise, he has maintained his membership with several relevant organizations, including the Royal Society of Chemistry, the Intelligence Research Institute, the Academic Society in Egypt and the Egyptian Chemical Society.
In accounting for his success, Mr. Mohamed largely credits his passion for research, as well as his drive to foster innovation within his area of expertise. Looking toward the future, he aspires to invest much of his time into developing drugs for diseases that are difficult to treat.
