With over 25 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Wheeler has excelled as the choir and drama director at Kinard Core Knowledge Middle School in Fort Collins, Colorado, since 2005. Adjacent to his current position, he also served as the owner and director of the Poudre Academy of Performing Arts from 2009 to 2012. Having also specialized in the field of medicine, he previously volunteered as an emergency medical technician at the UCHealth Poudre Valley Hospital from 2000 to 2010. Mr. Wheeler originally began his career in 1997, serving as a music and drama teacher at the Traut Core Knowledge Elementary School until 2005.
Prior to beginning his career, Mr. Wheeler cultivated his own formal education, beginning with his time at Colorado State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Music Education in 1995. He subsequently continued his studies at the University of Northern Colorado and achieved a Master of Music in 2005. In addition to his academic credentials, he also received his professional teacher license in 1997 and a Colorado master teacher license in 2019. Well-regarded for his dedication to his profession, Mr. Wheeler is notably proud to have won the NoBully.org national singing competition alongside his students in 2019, having delivered a powerful anti-bullying performance. Looking to the future, he looks forward to continuing his efforts in teaching students in music and performance, in addition to continuing his medical training.
