Dr. Marjorie L. Myers, Substitute Administrator at Arlington Public Schools, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in academic administration.

With more than 45 years of experience to her credit, Ms. Myers has excelled as a substitute administrator at Arlington Public Schools in Virginia since 2018. Prior to her retirement from full-time work, she found success as a principal with Key School – Escuela Key from 1995 to 2018, Arlington Public Schools from 1995 to 2018 and DCPS from 1993 to 1994. She previously served in a number of positions in Washington D.C., Florida, Georgia and Venezuela between 1974 and 1993, including as a programs and instruction language minority affairs coordinator, a leadership educational administration development participant, a bilingual counselor, a bilingual ESL teacher, a principal and a Spanish teacher, to name a few. Since 2019, Ms. Myers has been additionally active as a member of the board of directors for Edu-Futuro.

Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Myers pursued an education at the University of Florida, from which she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English and Spanish education, secondary education and teaching in 1972. She continued her academic efforts with a Master of Arts in bilingual and multicultural education at George Mason University in 1985. She concluded her studies at The George Washington University, graduating with a Doctor of Education in bilingual special education. Eponymously honored with a school library, she was presented with a number of accolades over the years, including a Bilingual Special Education Award from The George Washington University, the 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Arlington chapter of Rotary International, the 2018 Arlington County Community Partner of the Year Award from Edu-Futuro and La Cruz de Isabel La Catolica from King Felipe VI of Spain in 2018. Looking toward the future, Ms. Myers hopes to travel and relax while enjoying her well-deserved retirement.
