James Michael Stewart, Education Supervisor at Aquarium of the Pacific, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in education and academic administration.
With more than 15 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Stewart has excelled as an education supervisor with the Aquarium of the Pacific since 2019. Prior to this appointment, he held a number of positions with the Aquarium of the Pacific, including as an education volunteer from 2013 to 2014, an exhibit interpreter from 2014 to 2015, an aquarist volunteer from 2013 to 2016, an education associate from 2015 to 2016 and an education program coordinator from 2016 to 2019. He previously served as a science tutor for Varsity Tutors from 2013 to 2015 and WyzAnt Tutoring from 2014 to 2015, an order picker with Pacer Technology in 2013, an assistant maintenance and research technician with General Material Technology Inc. in 2012, an educator with Elizabeth School District C-1 from 2006 to 2011 and a pet product specialist with PetSmart from 2001 to 2005. Mr. Stewart began his career with Hugh M. Woods as a stocker and cashier between 1998 and 2001.
Mr. Stewart pursued an education at the Metropolitan State University of Denver, from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in biology with a minor in secondary education in 2006. He subsequently obtained his professional teaching license from the Colorado Department of Education in 2009. During his time with Elizabeth School District C-1, he was nominated as the Most Influential Teacher in 2008. Attributing his success to the support he has received from his wife and family, he is incredibly proud to have witnessed his students find success after departing from his programs. Looking toward the future, Mr. Stewart plans to pursue a graduate degree and explore additional opportunities in the fields of scientific publishing and academia.
