Katherine Looney Phillips, Retired Teacher at the Lowery Freshman Center, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in education.

Now retired, Ms. Phillips is an accomplished educator who most recently served as a teacher with the Lowery Freshman Center, where she remained for 14 years. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Alabama, which she earned in 1977, and is additionally certified in English as a Second Language (ESL) education, special education for grades K-12, and elementary through fourth grade education. Ms. Phillips became involved in her career field after working with individuals with intellectual disabilities during her high school education.

Alongside her work in education, Ms. Phillips served as an administrative assistant with the Swearingen Realty Group and Chase Bank. Since her retirement after 25 years in education, she looks forward to giving back to her community by offering her services to local school districts. Ms. Phillips also plans to pursue CPR certification. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and watching movies.
