Rebecca A. King, Teacher at Las Cruces Public Schools, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in public education.
An experienced educator, Ms. King currently excels as a teacher for Las Cruces Public Schools in New Mexico. Alongside this post, she has worked as a substitute teacher for the John Paul Taylor Academy and was a teacher in Anaheim, California, for four years. Ms. King is responsible for teaching reading, writing, spelling math, and science education. She additionally teaches music, physical education, and the arts. In preparation for her career, she attended Western New Mexico University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a minor in physical education.
Ms. King attributes her success to being a giving person. She always wanted to be an educator and spent her time volunteering in different elementary schools and babysitting. Among her accomplishments, she is proudest of being a lifelong member of the National Education Association. In 2009, she was inducted into the Hall of Fame in appreciation of her outstanding serving to the organization’s southwest region in New Mexico. In the coming years, Ms. King plans to continue substitute teaching, volunteering, and helping her community as long as she is able.
