Ms. Cohen graduated from the Juilliard School in 1964, earning her certification, and worked for the same institution as a student teacher. As a professional acting coach, she served the film and TV department of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts as a professor from 1998 to 2012. Ms. Cohen is an accomplished theater educator with decades of experience to her credit, and for 50 years, she has been a senior faculty member at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute. She is also a member of The Juilliard School Alumni Organization.
The author of “Bridging the Gap: Student to Professional Actor” and “Acting Teachers of America,” Ms. Cohen has contributed to articles in her field and has performed in TV and theatre productions. She was a celebrity acting coach for James Gandolfini, James Spader, Linda Hamilton, Karen Allen, and Steve Buscemi. Ms. Cohen also represented the United States in the work of Lee Strasberg at the International Methodic Theatrical Festival in Tuscany, Italy, in 2008. For her accomplishments, she was the recipient of the James L. Hearst Guest Lecturer Award for arts and humanities at the University of Northern Iowa. In the coming years, she hopes to continue helping young and aspiring actors realize their dreams.
