Since 2017, she has served as a teacher at the Clark County School District in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she currently specializes in special education and social, emotional learning for first through fifth grade students. Adjacent to her primary duties, she also serves on the district’s social committee, and she regularly volunteers with Heart Heroes Inc. and the American Heart Association Inc. Ms. Burrows previously operated as a teacher at the Nye County School District for 10 years.
Prior to obtaining her current position Ms. Burrows completed her own academic journey, earning a bachelor’s degree at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2007 and a master’s degree in special education at Western Governors University in 2017. Well regarded for her accomplishments in the field, she was nominated for the Heart of Education Award in 2022 by Clark County. Having been inspired by her mother to pursue a career in education by her mother, she is notably proud to have developed countless positive relationships with her students and their families. In the coming years, Ms. Burrows hopes to return to school so she can learn more about challenging student behaviors.
