Hilal Peker, PhD, Federal Projects Coordinator at Florida Department of Education, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in academic administration.
With 15 years of experience to her credit, Dr. Peker has excelled as a federal projects coordinator and educational policy consultant for the Bureau of Federal Educational Programs and the Florida Department of Education since 2021. During this time, she has been additionally active as an adjunct professor and dissertation committee chair at Saint Leo University since 2021 and an adjunct professor in the International Education Program at Framingham State University since 2020. In addition to these positions, she served in a number of academic capacities with the University of Central Florida, Florida State University, Bilkent University, First Star Academy, the University of Texas at Austin, Anadolu University and Evrendil Private Language Institute over the years. Dr. Peker began her career as an English teacher in the Montessori Education Language Program at the Tekdil Private Language Institute in Ankara, Turkey in 2007.
Before embarking on her professional path, Dr. Peker earned a Bachelor of Arts in English language teaching and foreign language education at Middle East Technical University in 2007, a Master of Arts in foreign language education at the University of Texas at Austin in 2013 and a Doctor of Philosophy in TESOL at the University of Central Florida in 2016. The recipient of several grants, she has been presented with myriad accolades from the University of Central Florida, The National Network for Early Language Learning, the Council on Research in Education, the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages and TESOL International Convention, to name a few. Affiliated with multiple organizations in her areas of expertise, she attributes her success to her internal drive to complete her goals as well as her exceptional planning skills. Proud to have re-conceptualized the English Learning Motivation theory, Dr. Peker hopes to advance to a professorial and administrative position in academia in the coming years.
