Cynthia Price, English teacher at the Columbus City Schools, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of English education.

With almost three decades of experience to her credit, Ms. Price is a proven expert in the field of education. Specializing in communications and curriculum planning, she has operated as an English teacher at the Columbus City Schools since 1999. Adjacent to her primary duties as an educator, she also serves as a home instructor, a consultant, and a high school success coach. As a member of the Success Program, Ms. Price ensures students who have yet to enroll in college are able to return to school with ease by teaching one-on-one courses.

Ms. Price previously operated with the Upward Bound program at The Ohio State University between 2012 and 2013, which fosters the skills and education of local Columbus City high school students. Prior to joining the Columbus City Schools, she worked as an English teacher at Rutherford B. Hayes High School in Delaware, Ohio, from 1996 to 1999. She originally began her career in 1994, working as a substitute teacher at several schools in her community. As part of her dedication to her profession, Ms. Price also remains affiliated with the National Education Association and the content advisory committee of the Ohio Education Association.

Before embarking on her vocational journey, Ms. Price pursued her own education at The Ohio State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in communications in 1995, a Master of Arts in general professional studies in 2001, and a Master of Arts in education administration in 2006. She earned her teacher’s certification at Ohio Dominican University in 1995. To commemorate her academic and professional accomplishments in the field, Ms. Price was recognized as Teacher of the Year by Linden McKinley High School in 2006.

Ms. Price has largely attributed her success to her parents, who served as positive role models over the course of her career. Accounting for her numerous achievements, she is most notably proud to have published her book, “150 50: A Teacher’s Account of Urban Schools,” in 2019. In the coming years, she aims to serve as a lecturer or adjunct professor in the English department of a university in her community. Furthermore, Ms. Price hopes to continue serving as an inspiration to her students and colleagues by helping them develop their own plans and remain self-reflective.
