Jerry Kill, Head Football Coach at New Mexico State University, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in coaching.

A college football coach with decades of experience to his credit, Mr. Kill has found success as the head coach of the football program at New Mexico State University since 2021. He was previously active as the assistant to the head coach and interim head coach for the football program at Texas Christian University between 2020 and 2021 and an assistant to the head football coach at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 2019. Prior to these posts, he served as the Salukis’ director of athletics at Southern Illinois University in 2019, a special assistant to the chancellor at Southern Illinois University in 2018, the offensive coordinator at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey from 2016 to 2017, an associate athletics director for administration at Kansas State University in 2016, head football coach for the University of Minnesota from 2011 to 2015 and the head football at Northern Illinois University from 2008 to 2010. Mr. Kill began his coaching career as a defensive coordinator at Pittsburg State University from 1985 to 1987, the head coach for Webb City High School from 1988 to 1990, an offensive coordinator for Pittsburg State University from 1991 to 1993, a head coach for Saginaw Valley State University from 1994 to 1998, a head coach for NCAA Division II at Emporia State University from 1999 to 2000, and a head coach at Southern Illinois University from 2001 to 2007.

Mr. Kill further contributed his talents as a chief administrator of the Kansas State University football program and as the author of “Chasing Dreams: Living My Life One Yard at a Time” in 2016. For his accomplishments as a coach, he has won 13 state championships, generated a 154-101 record, and made six appearances in bowl games. He has been recognized with numerous awards and accolades, including the Marquis Who’s Who Humanitarian Award for his charitable endeavors, including fundraising money for the National Foundation of Epilepsy.

Mr. Kill earned the FCA Power of Influence Award in 2016, the Bob McNamara Memorial Legends Award in 2015, the Cal Stoll Courage Award in 2014 and the Courage Award from the National Football Foundation in 2009. He was also inducted into the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame in 2016, the Southern Illinois University Hall of Fame in 2014 and the Southwestern College Hall of Fame in 2004, among further honors. Dedicated to his career field, Mr. Kill maintains affiliation with the American Football Coaches Association. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas, and in the coming years, he hopes to build his tournament program at New Mexico State University while experiencing continued success in his career.
