Anthony Ingram, PhD

In preparation for his career as an educator, Dr. Ingram attended Western Michigan University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in American History in 1970. He was the first Martin Luther King Jr. graduate from WMU. He then studied at the University of Michigan, graduating with a Master of Arts in History and Anthropology in 1972 and a Master of Arts in Education in 1974. Completing his higher education at the same institution, Dr. Ingram obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in higher education administration in 1979. Alongside his primary endeavors, he holds a management and supervisory certification, a k-12 teaching certification, and a (DDI), Dimensions Development International certification.
Since 2010, Dr. Ingram has worked as a social science adjunct faculty member with 11th and 12th grade high school seniors in dual enrollment courses at Wayne County Community College, and since 2016 he has been a writer with Life and Success LLC. He is an accomplished freelance writer with over a decade of professional experiences to his credit and has authored four books and a dozen articles for faculty at Oakland Community College between 1996 and 2013, His own biography, and over 600 poems. Dr. Ingram was previously the Chief Operating Officer of the Harmony Point Computer Training Company from 2013 to 2017, and served as the Dean of Academic and Student Services and Division Wide Social Sciences Dean with the five tier Oakland Community College campuses between 1996 and 2013.
Ingram is the recipient of multiple awards and accolades in recognition of his personal and professional accomplishments, including being an award recipient with Rotary International from 2006-2012. He is proud of writing three books on diversity and multiculturalism for the American Water Industry, which have seen continuous use since 1979. In the coming years, Dr. Ingram hopes to complete and publish his fifth book, titled  “Poems About Life and Success: Facing Challenges With Courage (A New Positivity Book for Readers in Living Life More Abundantly). He also plans to complete another book which will be about the impact of the Black Church on his life as a Christian.
