Having recently begun her career as an educator, Ms. Phillips has excelled as the choral director at Central High School in Carrollton, Georgia, as part of the Carroll County School System, for five years. Specializing choral and piano music, she instructs her students in music theory and history, as well as techniques used in music composition and analysis. Adjacent to her primary responsibilities, Ms. Phillips is also a member of Positive Behavior Intervention Systems, an organization within her school. Furthermore, she has been recognized as a literary coach by the Georgia High School Association. As part of her dedication to her profession, Ms. Phillips remains affiliated with several industry-related organizations, including the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA), the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) and the American Choral Directors Association.

Already well regarded for her talents as a teacher, Ms. Phillips’ choir previously received a superior rating from the GMEA Large Group Performance Evaluation. Prior to embarking on her vocational journey, Ms. Phillips pursued her own formal education at Anderson University in South Carolina, where she earned a master’s degree in music education. Outside of her professional endeavors, Ms. Phillips is also known for her participation as a civic-minded citizen in her community, regularly volunteering at her local Center for the Arts, singing at charitable student events, and visiting churches and nursing homes. In light of her fulfilling career thus far, she attributes much of her success to her parents, who instilled in her a dedicated work ethic and have been a constant source of inspiration. In the coming years, Ms. Phillips hopes to expand her music program at Central High School and continue encouraging others to pursue their musical aspirations.
