Dr. Glen D. Moyes, retired professor of accounting at University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in financial education.
Having accrued over four decades of experience, Dr. Moyes has excelled in the field of education. Specializing in educating students on fraud detection, he primarily served as a professor of accounting. Over the course of his career, he operated at several universities, including Fordham University, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and California Polytechnic State University. He most notably taught at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, where he served from 2001 to 2014 and between 2017 and 2019. Following his second tenure with the university, Dr. Moyes retired from teaching in 2019.
Before beginning his vocational journey, Dr. Moyes pursued his own formal education, earning a Bachelor of Science in management and accounting at The University of Utah in 1979, a Master of Business Administration at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1984, and a Doctor of Business Administration at the Alliant International University in 1991. As part of his dedication to his profession, he is also a former member of the Internal Audit Association. Furthermore, Dr. Moyes is well regarded for his scholarly output, having contributed numerous articles and papers regarding fraud detection, impaired auditor independence, and gender and racial issues. Accounting for his many accomplishments, he attributes much of his success to his tenacity, project-oriented attitude, and the love and support of his parents. In the coming years, Mr. Moyes hopes to continue publishing articles and books during his retirement.
