Specializing in training students in the literary arts, she has also served as a literacy consultant and reading intervention specialist at Zinke Educational Consulting since 2002. Prior to her current appointments, she operated as an instructor at the University of California, Berkeley from 2002 to 2010. Ms. Zinke began her career in 1978, working as a reading and resource specialist at various elementary schools in California, including El Nido Elementary School, until 2007.
Ms. Zinke’s performance in the field was born of her own academic journey, having earned a master’s degree at California State University. Adjacent to her primary vocational endeavors as an educator, she is also an accomplished author. Well regarded for her scholarly output, she has authored several educational works, including “The Decoding Solution: Rime Magic and Fast Success for Struggling Readers” in 2013 and “Rime Magic: Phonics-Powered Prevention and Intervention for All Students” in 2017. Over the course of her career, she has largely attributed her success to the support of her mentors, including Ken Goodman, Brian Cambourne, Louis Bridges, and Pam Allyn. In the coming years, Ms. Zinke hopes to see her reading programs in every school so that all children can learn to read and have the ease of access to do so.
