With nearly 50 years of experience to her credit, Ms. English currently excels as an academic support specialist at the Good Shepherd Episcopal School. Previously, she had found success as a classroom teacher and reading specialist for students between kindergarten and 12th grade. Additionally active with the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, she has further served with the Little Free Library, which was notably featured on “Good Morning America,” as well as her local food bank and Meals on Wheels. Likewise, Ms. English was appointed to become a presenter at the Palm Beach County Schools’ Literary Fest in 2019.

To support her stellar career, Ms. English pursued a formal education, acquiring a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education as well as a master’s degree in education. She has proudly accrued several accolades between 2017 and 2018, including a Superintendent’s Game Day Award, the Teacher of the Year Award from Riviera Beach Preparatory Academy, the Reading Teacher of the Year Award from My Teacher, My Hero and the Florida High Impact Teacher Award. The recipient of the 2020 Dwyer Award, she attributes her success to believing that every student is an individual and their personal style of learning should be addressed as such. Looking toward the future, Ms. English hopes to continue impacting the lives of children while promoting literacy.
