Nancy Reddy de Torres, retired Spanish teacher at Rochester Community Schools, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in linguistic education.

With three decades of her experience to her credit, Ms. Reddy de Torres cultivated a career of excellence in the field of education. From 1971 to 2000, she operated as a Spanish teacher for the Rochester Community Schools in Michigan, teaching students in Spanish linguistics and vocal music. In addition, she also regularly led tours for students in Mexico during summer breaks. As part of her commitment to her profession, she was also previously affiliated with the Michigan World Language Association. Well regarded for her accomplishments as an educator, Ms. Reddy de Torres was previously recognized with the Michigan Spanish Teacher of the Year Award in 1992 from The American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese, another organization with which she was previously affiliated.

Prior to embarking on her vocational journey, Ms. Reddy de Torres pursued her own education, beginning with her time at Western Michigan University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish, summa cum laude, in 1971. She subsequently continued her collegiate studies at Michigan State University, where she achieved a master’s degree in Spanish in 1977. Ms. Reddy de Torres also holds a master’s degree in business education, which she received in 1982. In light of her fulfilling career, she attributes many of her accomplishments to her academic success and the love and support of her parents. Since retiring, Ms. Reddy de Torres has been living in Florida, where she enjoys offering her assistance as a teacher to fellow citizens in the community, singing in a Spanish choir, and relaxing in her free time.
