Edith Lindridge, Retired Teacher at Newfound Regional High School, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in education.
Ms. Lindridge excelled as a teacher in grades 9 to 12 at Newfound High School from 1967 until 1999, earning the prestigious Timberlane Regional Education Association Award for Outstanding Teachers during the 1981-1982 academic year. She created the Newfound Area Teacher’s Association, a labor union for the teachers at the aforementioned high school, and served as its president for nine years. She has been on the National Education Association-New Hampshire’s budget and negotiations committees and on the negotiations committee of the State Delegate Assembly. Additionally, she worked as a camp counselor for nine years and thrived as a cheerleading coach for two years.
Overcoming a dyslexia diagnosis, Ms. Lindridge earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Plymouth State University. She subsequently obtained a master’s degree in mathematics from the same university in 1967. Devoted to her field, she is a member of the Math Education Society.
Originally a physical education major at college, Ms. Lindridge was motivated to become a mathematics teacher by the success she experienced as a mathematics tutor for her classmates during her freshman year at college. She attributes her success to her creativity, as well as being flexible in her approach to teaching children. By the time Ms. Lindridge retired, she was the highest-paid teacher at her school due to her achievements and longevity and her ongoing pursuit of her own education. She now looks forward to enjoying her retirement while living in Florida.
