Robert B. Jenkins, Retired Professor at Santa Ana College and Author at National Geographic Learning, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in language education.

With 30 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Jenkins has excelled with the Rancho Santiago Community College District as a coordinator for the professional development strand of the basic skills initiative since 2008 and a coordinator for the professional development for continuing education programs since 2003. Moreover, he has been active as a freelance textbook author for National Geographic Learning since 2001, a position in which he has authored or co-authored “Stand Out: Evidence-Based learning for College and Career Readiness” in 2016, “Grammar Explorer” in 2014, “Grammar Challenge” in 2008 and “Stand Out: Standards-based English” in 2001, among others. In addition to finding success as a private ESL consultant, teacher and trainer, he has previously held a number of posts with Santa Ana College, the California Adult Literacy Professional Development Project, the Outreach and Technical Assistance Network, Heinle & Heinle Publishing and California State University, Fullerton throughout his career. Mr. Jenkins embarked upon his professional path with Harcourt Brace ESL Publisher, for which he worked as a college language specialist from 1992 to 1994.

To support his professional endeavors, Mr. Jenkins earned a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish, with honors, in 1988 and a Master of Science in TESOL in 1993, both of which were obtained from California State University, Fullerton. As a testament to his exceptional efforts, he has been presented with a number of accolades from Santa Ana College, including a Professional Achievement Award in 2019, a Professional Development Award in 2010, a Distinguished Faculty Award in 2008, a Faculty Development Award in 2005, a Curriculum Award in 2000 and several Publications Awards between 2003 and 2009. Furthermore, Mr. Jenkins accepted the Best Practices and Model Program Award from the Association for Community and Continuing Education and a Heinle Outstanding Achievement Award from National Geographic Learning in 2013.
