With decades of experience to her credit, Ms. Krievans has excelled as a teacher with the Children’s Yamaha Music School in Minneapolis, Minnesota for 25 years. In this position, she teaches comprehensive music and keyboard education for children and young adults between the ages of four and 18, covering such topics as music theory, signing, music appreciation and the basics of keyboard. In addition to this appointment, Ms, Krievans has found success as a teacher with the Piano Studio of Inese Krievans for 30 years.
Beyond her primary responsibilities, Ms. Krievans has been affiliated with the Music Teachers National Association, the Minnesota Music Teachers Association, the National Federation of Music Clubs and the Minneapolis Music Teachers Forum, to which she also contributed as a treasurer and recital coordination. To support her career, she earned a bachelor’s degree in piano performance from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities in 1999. Attributing her success to the dedication of her students, she is particularly proud of witnessing her students become professional musicians or harbor a deep appreciation for music regardless of their path. In the coming years, Ms. Krievans hopes to remain a source of inspiration for children to love and appreciate classical music while continuing to advocate for music and arts education.
