Audrey Ortberg, Fine and Performing Arts Teacher at CY Middle School, Natrona County School District, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in music education and performance.
Ms. Ortberg obtained a Bachelor of Arts in music education in 2001 from the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyoming and later earned a Master of Arts in music education in 2015 from the aforementioned university, where she is currently pursuing a Master of Science in educational leadership. Ms. Ortberg has provided superior education as a music educator with Natrona County Schools in Wyoming since 2008 and in orchestra and music technology with CY Middle School in Casper, Wyoming since 2015.
In addition to music education, Ms. Ortberg has flourished as a violinist and on viola with the Wyoming Symphony, Powder River Symphony and Fremont County Symphony. She serves as state president, Wyoming chapter, of the American String Teachers Association and state orchestra vice president of the Wyoming Music Educators Association. Ms. Ortberg’s other professional memberships include the National Association for Music Education.
Ms. Ortberg attributes her success to her drive for achievement and pursuing excellence as the first member of her family to earn a college degree and pursue postgraduate studies. As a career highlight, she is most proud of pursuing and earning her national board certification as a teacher, which was a rigorous process and maintains that her journey toward her certification has allowed her to become a better educator. In the coming years, Ms. Ortberg would like to be either a middle school or high school assistant principal or a head middle school principal in a public school system.
