Joseph Franco, Teacher at Edgewood Junior/Senior High School, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in music education.
Mr. Franco obtained a Bachelor of Science in music education from the University of Miami in 2015. He currently provides superior education as a music teacher in chorus and orchestra with Edgewood Junior/Senior High School in Merritt Island, Florida. To remain aware of changes and advancements in his field, Mr. Franco maintains affiliations with the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) and the Florida Music Educators Association (FMEA).
Mr. Franco decided to pursue a career in music education because of his love of music, having played piano as early as nine years of age, and started composing music at the same time. Mr. Franco attributes his success to his passion for his students’ educational well-being and giving them quality education, especially in the arts. A skilled piano and violin instrumentalist, he performs with students at community fundraising events and volunteers for Tri-M, a premier American high school and middle school music honor society. As a career highlight, he cites one of his students playing at Carnegie Hall. In the coming years, Mr. Franco envisions himself still working as a music teacher, but he is also open to other opportunities.
