Amanda Schoolland, music director at the Annette Island School District, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in music education.
Having accumulated 15 years of experience in the field, Ms. Schoolland has excelled as the music director at the Annette Island School District since 2018. As a specialist in music and music education, she previously operated as the director and founder of the Junior Strings of Pueblo County from 2015 to 2018 and a music teacher at Sierra Vista Elementary School from 2013 to 2018. She began her career working as a private brass instructor at Katzin Studios from 2007 to 2010. To commemorate her commitment in the field, Ms. Schoolland was recognized as one of Yamaha’s Top 40 Under 40 Music Educators in the Country in 2022, as well as the Colorado Outstanding Young Music Educator of the Year in 2017.
Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Schoolland cultivated her own education, earning a Bachelor of Arts in music education at Fort Lewis College in 2011. She is currently pursuing a Master of Music in music education at Colorado State University. As part of her commitment in the field, she also maintains her membership with the Alaska Music Educators Association and the National Association for Music Education. Accounting for her accomplished career, Ms. Schoolland largely attributes her success to her ability to form positive relationships with her students and her desire to share her love of music with others. In the coming years, she hopes to continue expanding the music program of her school district.
