Matthew Kushi, Graduate Academic Programs Manager at Isenberg School of Management, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in educational management and farm entrepreneurship.
Following obtaining a Bachelor of Science in sports management and history from the University of Massachusetts (UMass) in 2010, Mr. Kushi subsequently earned a Master of Public Policy and Administration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2013 and continued his education with a Master of Business Administration from the aforementioned university in 2020. He has provided superior service as special education paraprofessional with the Hopkins Academy in Hadley, Massachusetts in 2013, survey crew technician with Berkshire Design Group, Inc., from 2013 to 2014 and program technician with the United States Department of Agriculture from 2014 to 2017. Since 2017, he has excelled with the University of Massachusetts Amherst as academic matters coordinator and manager of the graduate and professional programs office at the Isenberg School of Management, where his responsibilities include scheduling classes, administering course evaluations, processing UMass Graduate faculty course workload payments and working with faculty and staff to set up classroom technology needs.
Beside his efforts in academia, Mr. Kushi has also prospered as owner and founder of the Kushi Farm and the North Hadley Chili Pepper Company, a premier small farm that focuses on providing quality agricultural products and services to the public including crops to be used for food and resources such as peppers, winter squash and pumpkins, as well as agricultural research for innovative growing methods. Mr. Kushi became involved in his profession because he aspired to become a part of an undertaking that empowers and educates others for the future and for the betterment of the society. As a career highlight, he cites his listing in 40 Under 40 Honoree Class of 2021 by BusinessWest in 2021, as he prides himself in being able to utilize his skills, knowledge, and work experience to better his community and to help empower students who come through the University of Massachusetts. In the coming years, Mr. Kushi hopes to continue to advance in his career in academia and continue to develop professionally. He also hopes to be involved in teaching and lecturing to inspire others.
