Yolanda M. Beverly, teacher with the Detroit Public Schools Community District, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in high school education.
With almost two decades of experience to her credit, Ms. Beverly has excelled as a teacher in the Detroit Public Schools Community District. Since 2009, she has educated high schools students in the district in personal finance, entrepreneurship and computer basic. Adjacent to her primary vocational duties, she also liaises on behalf of her school in relation to the integration of the National Academy Foundation program, which prepares high school students for academic and professional success. Prior to her current appointment, Ms. Beverly began her career working as a substitute teacher in the Highland Park, Michigan region from 2004 to 2008.
Before embarking on her vocational journey, Ms. Beverly pursued her own education at Wayne State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting in 2002 and a Master of Arts in Teaching in 2008. Over the course of her career, she has also served as an advisor for Business Professional of America, and she has been well regarded for her dedication to civic advocacy, volunteering as a secretary and board member of a local charter school. In light of her many accomplishments, Ms. Beverly attributes much of her success to her tenacity as a professional educator. To wit, she believes in finding the silver lining to every situation and maintaining a positive attitude. Ms. Beverly is proud to be able to assist her students whenever she can, and she hopes to continue doing so for years to come.
