Harmon Cooper, Associate Professor at New York University College of Dentistry, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in dental education and practice.
After Dr. Cooper obtained a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the New York University College of Dentistry in 1967, he served for two years in the Dental Corps of the United States Army, attaining the rank of captain. Dr. Cooper opened a private practice in Rosedale, Queens in 1972, and he has provided superior dental care for more than 50 years.
Dr. Cooper has also excelled as clinical director of the dental program with the New York University College of Dentistry for over two decades, where he currently imparts his knowledge as an associate professor. In this capacity, he teaches undergraduate dental students and maintains oversight of two clinical floors. To remain aware of changes and developments in his field, Dr. Cooper maintains affiliations with the American Academy of General Dentistry and the national dental honor society of Omicron Kappa Upsilon.
In the coming years, Dr. Cooper would like to be more involved in surgical research, as he has already worked on a number of one-of-a-kind items that include a surgical auto transplant. He is hoping to reduce his time teaching soon and would like to educate himself in the field of medical cannabis. Dr. Cooper is currently working with a company named Sweetspot Brands, which recently obtained licensing in New Jersey for recreational and medical use of cannabis.
