Heath B. Barker, Teacher at Christian Brothers School, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of education.

An innovator in education for more than 20 years, Mr. Barker also serves as the band director, director of community mission and ministry, federal program liaison and chairperson for accreditation at the Christian Brothers School. He was additionally active as interim principal for one year at the school’s new Canal Street Campus, developing the curriculum for the students and hiring 95 percent of its staff. Previously, Mr. Barker excelled as a teacher with The Good Shepherd Nativity Mission School Inc. from 2002 to 2004.

Well regarded for his expertise and leadership, Mr. Barker was bestowed with Cabrini High School’s  Distinguished Educator Award in 2018. He was also featured in a 2021 edition of De La Salle Today.

An alumnus of Archbishop Rummel High School, Mr. Barker earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of New Orleans in 2001. He subsequently completed additional coursework at the Lasallian Leadership Institute, the Brother John Johnston Institute, the Buttimer Institute of Lasallian Studies and the Lasallian Social Justice Institute.

A leader in the community, Mr. Barker has served as a member of the Regional Mission Formation Board, District of North America, and as a member of the First Mission and Ministry Council, Santa Fe New Orleans District. He looks forward to establishing a business that would provide high school graduates in his community with a wealth of resources to help them be successful.
