Previously, he was a choral director at West Columbus High School in Cerro Gordo, North Carolina from 1994 to 1996. Since 2011, he has been an adjunct music professor at Central Carolina Community College in Sanford, North Carolina. He is the director of music at Cary Presbyterian Church, serving in this capacity since 1998.

Mr. Yasick is a board-certified teacher in early adolescence through young adult music, meeting the requirements to earn this achievement in 2002. He graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Indiana, Pennsylvania in 1991 and in 2000, secured his master’s degree in music education at University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He attributes his career success to his passion for teaching and his love of music, something he wants to share with others. He found his affinity for music as a child and at age 12, became an organist for his church. A highlight of his career has been working with other teachers and helping to develop programs throughout the state of North Carolina.
