Michelle D. Robell

Title: First Grade Teacher
Company: Palo Alto Unified School District
Location: Palo Alto, California, United States

Michelle Robell, First Grade Teacher at Palo Alto Unified School District, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in education administration.

After initially obtaining a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in criminal justice, summa cum laude, from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, Ms. Robell subsequently earned a master’s degree in industrial and organizational psychology at the University of New Haven, Connecticut in 1991. After several years working in the corporate world, she discovered she had a desire to teach and earned her teaching credential from the University of the Pacific-Benerd School of Education. Ms. Robell has had an exceptional career in education for over 20 years, initially with the Mountain View Whisman School District as Gifted and Talented education specialist from 1998 to 1999, and since 2000 as a first-grade teacher with the Palo Alto Unified School District.

According to Ms. Robell, she decided to change her career path because she sought an opportunity where her daily life is meaningful and purposeful and is significant to other people rather than just herself. What really matters to her is the people’s lives that she touched, and that is a significant part of who she is as an individual and as a professional. She has contributed as an emergency room volunteer, is a member of the Science Adoption Curriculum Committee with the Palo Alto School District and contributes as a member of several mathematics adoption committees.

Establishing a connection and a good relationship with her students as well as the people in their community has been what Ms. Robell considers to be her most notable achievement. In the coming years, she hopes to be more involved in the school district as an educator leader and also hopes to mentor new teachers and be more involved in other aspects of education after her retirement. Her goal is to do the best that she can in order to succeed each and every day.
