Ana Landrón Arana, Instructor at Colegio Universitario de San Juan, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in teaching English.

After initially obtaining a Bachelor of Science in natural sciences from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus in 1974, Ms. Landrón Arana subsequently earned a Master of Education in guidance counseling from the aforementioned university in 1979. She continued her education with PhD coursework in 1983 at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and later completed PhD-level linguistics courses at the University of Puerto Rico in 2005 and master’s-level linguistics and second language acquisition for teaching second language learners at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana in 2013. 

Since 1990, Ms. Landrón Arana has provided superior service as an English/Spanish translator for academic and administrative documents, essays and college catalogues, as well as a consultant for numerous social organizations. In addition, she has excelled as a proposal reviewer for the United States Center for Substance Abuse Prevention in 1993, as an instructor in English for the University of Puerto Rico since 1998 and a director of planning with the Institutional Research and External Resources Office at the University of San Juan from 2013 to 2017. Ms. Landrón Arana attributes her success to her nonjudgmental nature and her ability to see things in a positive light. As a career highlight, she cites her pride in helping students and challenging them to push their boundaries.
