S. Bruce Fisher, Director of Bands at Crawford County School System, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in music education.

Mr. Fisher graduated from Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville, Georgia with a bachelor’s in music education in 1976. He continued his education at Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia, earning a Master of Education in music in 1980. For 36 years, he has been the director of bands for the Crawford County School System for Roberta, Georgia. During his time in this position, he was honored with multiple awards, including being named as a Superlative Teacher by Bainbridge High School in 1982 and receiving a Teacher of the Year honor from Bonaire Middle School in 1999. 

Mr. Fisher is active as a member of the Georgia Music Educators Association, the National Association for Music Education and the Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America, a collegiate brotherhood that focuses specifically on music. His areas of expertise include jazz, concert programs and musical arrangement. He attributes his success to the work ethic instilled in him by his parents, his genuine care for his students and his enjoyment of playing music. He plans to continue his musical education by earning a doctorate in the future.
