Dr. Linda Bean, EdD, Dean at Arkansas Tech University College of Education, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in education.
Dr. Bean has been active in learning and academia her entire life. She initially obtained a Bachelor of Science in business education from Arkansas Tech University in 1973. She then earned a Master of Science in business education with the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, Arkansas in 1986. She graduated from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1996 with a Doctor of Education in vocational and adult education.
Dr. Bean is the professor of business and dean of the College of Education of Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, Arkansas. She was previously active as the associate dean at the College of Education for Arkansas Tech and an assistant professor of business education at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway and at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama.
The joy of mentoring young people led Dr. Bean to the world of academics. She is a member of the National Business Education Association, the Southern Business Education Association, the Arkansas Business Education Association, the Association for Career Technical Education and the Association of Teacher Educators. She was recognized as a national finalist in 2018 for the Postsecondary Teacher of the Year for region IV of the Association for Career and Technical Education. She was also honored as Outstanding Faculty/Staff Advisor of the Year at Arkansas Tech University in 2014. She attributes the mentorship that she received in her life, along with her hard work and perseverance, to being the key to her success. She has since devoted her career to becoming a mentor and teacher for others.
