Professor Fred Davis, Professor and Program Coordinator at Voorhees University, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in education.
Mr. Davis is a teacher, writer, editor and barbeque judge. His education began with a Bachelor of Science in English education from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro, North Carolina 1969. He had a successful career in news and journalism for decades before returning to school and earning his Master of Business Administration in general and executive management at Florida Metropolitan University in 2005. He continued his education at Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Florida, obtaining a Master of Arts in teaching in 2007. In 2012, he graduated from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota with an All But Dissertation doctorate in educational technology.
In his first career as a journalist, Mr. Davis worked as a city and county reporter for WFMY-TV, a CBS affiliate, from 1969 to 1970. He subsequently excelled as a reporter, anchor, field reporter, assistant news director and director of documentaries at several television station affiliates for ABC, ABC News and NBC News. He was a columnist for the Seattle Times in Seattle and the Spokesman-Review in Spokane, Washington from 1996 to 1998 and for various newspapers in South Carolina from 1992 to 2002. He shared his skills in the academic world, serving as a visiting professor and adjunct lecturer at Jacksonville University from 2007 to 2014 and the University of Florida from 2001 to 2007.
Mr. Davis is also a certified barbeque judge with the Kansas City Barbeque Society in Kansas City, Missouri, a position he has held since 1992. He is an avid golfer, gourmet cook and a member of the United States Tennis Association. He has previously been featured in multiple editions of the Who’s Who in Finance and Business, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the Midwest, Who’s Who in the South and Southwest and Who’s Who in the World.
