Jamie Moore, Art Teacher at Rehoboth Art League, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in art instruction.
After initially obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The Maryland Institute College of Art, Ms. Moore continued her education with a Master of Arts in art education and art history from the Anne Arundel County equivalency program and later earned a Master of Science in counseling in 1990 from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. She subsequently earned a postgraduate certification in work and family therapy from Loyola University Chicago.
Ms. Moore has found success as a professional artist, counselor and art instructor for more than three decades with the Anne Arundell County Schools, Southern Delaware School of the Arts and Rehoboth Art League. Additionally, she has provided superior service as a specialist in gifted education for visual and performing arts with the Anne Arundell County Schools. To honor her professional skills, she earned Teacher of the Year honors with the Rehoboth Art League in 2018 and also as Teacher of the Year with the Southern Delaware School of the Arts.
Dr. Moore became involved in her profession because, she claims, art “has always been in her DNA.” She could not remember a time when she was not drawing and knew she was already drawing before she even learned how to write. As a career highlight, Dr. Moore cites what she is currently doing now at the Rehoboth Art League as the highlight of her career, as she maintains that it serves as a culmination of everything she has done in the past. In the coming years, she aspires to be able to do more workshops during which she can teach two areas in art: technique and creative thinking.
