Michael Faulx, Associate Professor of Medicine at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in cardiology education and treatment.

After initially obtaining a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry in 1992 from The Pennsylvania State University in University Park, Pennsylvania, Dr. Faulx continued his education with a Doctor of Medicine in 1997 from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He then completed an internship in 1998 and a residency in 2000 with the University Hospitals of Cleveland and Cleveland Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where he served as chief medical resident from 2000 to 2001 and a cardiology fellowship from 2001 to 2005, with the latter two years as chief cardiology fellow. Dr. Faulx excelled as an emergency hospital medicine consultant in internal medicine from 2002 to 2005 with Lake Health Systems in Willoughby, Ohio. 

For over 15 years, Dr. Faulx has provided superior service as a physician and educator with the Cleveland Clinic, a superior medical center that is consistently ranked as one of the best hospitals in the United States. From 2005 to 2008 he excelled as an associate staff physician with the clinic’s Clinical Cardiology, Cardiovascular Medicine, Heart, Vascular and Thoracic Institute; from 2006 to 2021 as associate program director of the internal medicine residency; and as staff physician from 2008 to the present. Dr. Faulx’s area of expertise is in invasive non-interventional cardiology. In his current role as a cardiologist, he performs diagnostic invasive procedures, echocardiography and critical care. He coordinates students’ lectures and is presently conducting clinical research related to sleep apnea and heart disease.

With the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, Case Western Reserve University, Dr. Faulx has likewise provided superior education as assistant professor of medicine from 2013 to 2021 and associate professor from 2021 to the present. He has co-directed the cardiovascular and respiratory sciences course since 2018 and subspecialty education coordinator in cardiology since 2014.  

Dr. Faulx attributes his success to a strong work ethic as well as his curiosity. As a career highlight, he cites his work as the editor of a popular book for medical students published in 2015, “Case Files Cardiology.” In the coming years, his goal is to become a full professor.
