Brett Sulonen, Athletic Trainer at P.T. Services Rehabilitation Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in physical therapy and treatment.

Mr. Sulonen obtained a Bachelor of Science in strength and conditioning in 2010 and a master’s degree in athletic training in 2011 from The University of Findlay in Findlay, Ohio. He was certified as an athletic trainer by the Board of Certification/Accreditation and by the Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Athletic Trainers Board. He garnered an additional certification from IMPACT, a leader in concussion management.

As an athletic trainer, Mr. Sulonen provided superior service with Lakewood Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in Dallas Fort Worth from 2011 to 2012 and with PT Services Rehabilitation Inc. in Tiffin, Ohio from 2012 to the present. His responsibilities include the prevention, diagnosis and intervention of emergency, acute and chronic medical conditions involving impairment, functional limitations and disabilities. Since 2019, he has excelled as a sports medicine teacher with Cardington-Lincoln High School in Cardington, Ohio.

To remain aware of changes and advancements in his field, Mr. Sulonen maintains affiliation with National Athletic Trainers’ Association, the Great Lakes Athletic Trainers’ Association and the Secondary Schools Committee of the Ohio Athletic Trainers’ Association. 

Mr. Sulonen attributes his success to the love and support of his wife and family. He became involved in his profession because he had his first major injury when he was 11 or 12 years old and was later diagnosed with a torn rotator cuff. While being treated for injuries in high school, he garnered an interest in physical therapy and later, athletic training which is more involved in medicine. 

Mr. Sulonen’s future goals concern his educational programs for future healthcare providers. He wants to advance the program and add more classes, and he will be founding internships for his students for them to be able to work in the field while learning.
