Austin Van Allen, Art and Music Teacher at Art and Music Teacher, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in art and art instruction.
Since 2014, Mr. Van Allen has provided superior education as an art and music teacher for 7th and 8th grade students with the State College Area School District. In 2019, he earned a master’s degree in education from Penn State and has parlayed his love of education and his excellence as an artist into a thriving art and instructional career. In 2013, Mr. Van Allen was awarded a Dorothy Young Scholarship by Music Arts Education.
Mr. Van Allen’s own works have been frequently exhibited. “Roll for Hope,” was a 24×14 inch watercolor and ink commissioned piece, and “Cascade,” was a larger piece done with the same media. His work has been featured or is scheduled to be featured at the Luxembourg International Arts Festival, the MONAT Gallery in Madrid, CurioCool Gallery in Zelienople, Pennsylvania and M.A.D.S art gallery in Milan.
To remain aware of changes in the field, Mr. Van Allen is affiliated with the Pennsylvania Middle Level Educators, the Pennsylvania Arts Education Association and the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association. He has volunteered his time with the Art Alliance of Central Pennsylvania, where he teaches art classes.
In the coming years, Mr. Van Allen intends to continue his own studies, teach, seek out more opportunities that allow him to help others hone their creative instincts and experience the continued success of his careers in both education and the arts.
