After earning an associate of music in 1983 from Chipola College in Marianna, Florida and coursework in music education at Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama, Ms. Harlow obtained a Bachelor of Music Ministry in 1988 from the Baptist College of Florida in Graceville. Currently, she is pursuing a master’s degree in music education.

In a career spanning more than three decades, Ms. Harlow has excelled as a grade school teacher and music instructor. She provided superior education as a first and second grade teacher from 1991 to 1992 with Chipley Christian Academy in Florida and as a minister of music with the First Baptist Church in Commerce, Georgia from 1997 to 1999. After serving as a special education fifth grade teacher with Commerce Middle School from 2006 to 2008, Ms. Harlow taught third and fourth grade and served as a video facilitator with Washington County Christian School in Chipley. With Dove Vocational Academy in Graceville, she prospered for six years as a culinary arts teacher and exceptional student education staffing specialist and then as a choral director with Marianna High School from 2015 to 2017. After serving as a middle and high school music and chorus teacher with Early County, Georgia from 2017 to 2021, Ms. Harlow has most recently found success as a music and chorus teacher with Grady County Schools in Cairo. Her professional affiliations include the Georgia Music Educators Association, Handbell Musicians of America and Florida Music Educators Association.

Ms. Harlow attributes her success through the years to her strong faith and the example of her family who was always quite musical, inspiring her to learn piano at a young age and play for churches. As a career highlight, she cites working with the Georgia High School Athletic Association on a program called Literary, which included a music segment and a one-act play in the spring. She supervised a boy’s quartet, a girl’s trio and one boy’s solo. The boy who gave a solo performance placed second in his first competition before qualifying for the state championship every year since then. In the coming years, Ms. Harlow’s goal is to continue sharing her love of music, her greatest joy, with her students.
