Michael Amaral, Assistant Principal at Danvers Public Schools, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in education administration.
Following obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in music with a minor in education from Eastern Nazarene College, Mr. Amaral followed with a master’s degree in 2016 in music education at Gordon College. Currently, he is pursuing a doctorate in educational leadership with Lesley University.
From 2010 to 2021 Mr. Amaral provided superior service as a teacher with Willis E. Thorpe Elementary School, where, in what he considers to be a career highlight, he currently prospers as an assistant principal. His responsibilities include communicating with staff, planning for staff coverages, attend to a full teaching load, ensuring that safety protocols are being followed, helping with student behavior support across the building, assisting the principal as needed and attending meetings.
Mr. Amaral’s professional memberships include the Massachusetts Teachers Association, American Association of School Administrators, Massachusetts School Administrators Association, National Association for Music Education, Massachusetts Music Educators Association and National Association of Elementary School Principals. He has earned a Citizenship Citation from the Plymouth County Commissioners Board and was the recipient of an Eastern Nazarene College scholarship.
Mr. Amaral believes that his accomplishments are the fruit of his own passion and drive. He had always set his sights on obtaining a leadership role and diligently pursued the goal. Recognizing the value of collaboration, he also acknowledges the contribution of the people he worked with. Their support, assistance and inspiration helped him build his career. He remembers his parents and colleagues, keeping in mind how their passion and the work they have done motivated him through the years. Finally, he is grateful to his partner of seven years, without whom any success he experiences would be limited. In the coming years, Mr. Amaral is looking forward to having his research published and completing his doctorate in educational studies at Lesley University. In addition, he hopes to move up in the educational leadership arena and venture into providing consulting services for other leaders. He will continue to inspire the next generation of students and teachers into creating positive change in the world.
