Dr. O’Hanlon began his career in education as a school direct support specialist in 2009 with the nonprofit behavioral health organization The Devereux Foundation. Attributing his success to building strong relationships with his students, with the teachers that he works with and with community members, Dr. O’Hanlon stresses that he builds relationships with sincerity so he can lead by example. Initially interested in pursuing a career in the military or law enforcement, Dr. O’Hanlon decided that he could keep people out of trouble with the law by being a teacher who could inspire them.

Dr. O’Hanlon considers his most notable achievement has been serving as the president of the Brandywine Education Foundation for five years. He also takes pride in his opportunity to meet future President Joseph Biden and Dr. Jill Biden one on one when they made an appearance at Brandywine High School. In the coming years, his goal is to continue being in a leadership role and impact students, teachers, and schools in a positive way whether that be in his current position, as a principal, or as a superintendent.
