Michael J. Walzer, Teacher and Coach at Akron Public Schools, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in grade school education and coaching.
In 1976, Mr. Walzer obtained a Bachelor of Science in elementary education from Kent State University in Ohio. He thereupon provided superior education from 1976 to 2006 as a mathematics, science, and history teacher in grades five through nine in the Akron Public Schools, additionally serving as a soccer and track coach. He has served his community as a poll worker with the Summit County Board of Elections from 2016 to the present, and is a regular donator to the Kent State Alumni Association and High School Scholarship Fund.
Mr. Walzer attributes his success to his upbringing by two good parents and a close family with friends. In coming years, he may go back to substitute teaching again for two to three years while spending time with his grandnieces and grandnephews. Further he plans to continue hiking with the Akron Hiking Club and volunteer at the Mustill Store Store and Museum along the historic Ohio Canal
