Jamie Koepp, Athletic Director, Associate Principal and Director of Summer School at Watertown High School, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in academic administration.

Backed by decades of experience in the educational sector, Mr. Koepp has excelled as the athletic director and associate principal at Watertown High School since 2015. He celebrates a tenure in different capacities that spans more than 15 years with the aforementioned district. He is also currently the director of summer school for the Watertown Unified School District, which has an approximate enrollment of 1,800 students from kindergarten through grade 12. Earlier, Mr. Koepp was employed as a school counselor for more than 10 years as well as the varsity boys’ basketball coach from 2006 to 2013.

Mr. Koepp’s experience as an educator began as a science, mathematics and reading classroom teacher in Milwaukee Public Schools at Steuben Middle School. He would later work at Milwaukee Juneau as a science teacher, school counselor, Advanced Placement coordinator and the school assessment director. During that same time, Mr. Koepp also served as the head basketball coach at Juneau, a member of the Milwaukee City Conference. He finished his coaching career with more than 200 wins in five years as a high school head basketball coach and a part of over 110 wins in six years as an assistant coach at the collegiate level at Cardinal Stritch University. Additionally, Mr. Koepp coached a men’s basketball team with Student Athlete World USA (SAWUSA) to a Silver Medal at the 2021 Portugal Basketball Festival.

At the beginning of his professional journey, Mr. Koepp worked as a dietetic technician, juvenile correctional officer and bellboy. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Concordia University in 1997 and a Master of Arts in educational policy and leadership from Marquette University in 2000. In 2002, he obtained a post-master’s degree in education psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Finding great success throughout his career, Mr. Koepp was inducted into the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2020, the recipient of an Award of Excellence from the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association and honored as the Milwaukee City Conference Coach of the Year in 2004 and 2005. He attributes his success to his drive.

Outside of his primary position, Mr. Koepp established the Jamie Koepp Basketball Youth Camps for Boys and Girls in 2001. He was also instrumental in introducing several youth basketball camps, parent/child camps in Watertown and was active on the executive board of the largest labor union, Milwaukee District Council #48. For the past 15 years, he served as a volunteer host for Watertown TV. Likewise, his award-winning show, “SportsTalk with Jamie Koepp,” has aired approximately 400 shows and can now be viewed throughout the world. Looking toward the future, Mr. Koepp anticipates being in a superintendent role and attending more National Interscholastic Athletic Administrator Association National Conferences. Whatever the next development in his career might be, he hopes to be in the position where he can continue making a true impact on people.
