Jennifer Lambert, Teacher at Cove Creek School, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in science education.

Ms. Lambert obtained a Bachelor of Science in elementary education from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina in 2003 before pursuing a Master of Education at East Carolina University in Greenville. Since 2013, she has excelled as a fourth and fifth grade science teacher at Cove Creek School in Vilas, North Carolina. In addition, she has found success as a site director with Appalachian State since 2020. Ms. Lambert is a member of the National Science Teachers Association and has been nominated as the Teacher of the Year.

Ms. Lambert attributes her professional achievements to her passion for educating students, as well as to her middle school teacher, who saw her potential and understood her background, introduced her to Upward Bound, a college preparatory program that served as a strong push for her to keep persevering. Ms. Lambert teaches at a Title I school and believes in the importance of each student and in the value of education.

Citing her passion for teaching as the major reason for becoming an educator, Ms. Lambert saw the need for students to see their value and understand the role of education in their lives. She has drawn the greatest sense of pride from having her Cove Creek School students earn the highest fifth grade reading End-of-Grade (EOG) scores over a ten-year period. In the coming years, Ms. Lambert intends to keep teaching and learning better techniques in order to be a more effective educator to her students. She is enjoying teaching science and is looking forward to continue mastering her abilities as a science teacher in Watauga County.
