Since 2007, Mr. Segreto has provided superior service with Elgin Community College as a business division substitute instructor, an academic support tutor and an office administrative technology laboratory assistant. Since 2015, he has additionally excelled as an emergency services laboratory and program assistant at the aforementioned college. In this role, he administers real-life simulation training to emergency service students and professionals, manages computer and simulation lab practices and procedures and assists students and staff with using computer applications and equipment as well as troubleshooting, remedying, and implementing IT equipment issues.
After obtaining an Associate of Arts from Elgin Community College in 1994, Mr. Segreto followed with a Bachelor of Science in applied geography with emphasis on geographic information systems from Northern Illinois University in 1998. He later continued his education with an Associate of Applied Science in accounting at Elgin Community College in 2006. Mr. Segreto prospered as a sales associate with Frank’s Nursery and Crafts from 1992 to 1998 and a mapping technician preparing precise digital county, municipal tax records for The Sidwell Company from 1998 to 2004.
Mr. Segreto attributes his success to his positive attitude and his constant passion to learn. He became involved in his profession because Elgin Community College has been instrumental in his professional growth throughout his entire career. Working with colleagues he enjoys helps him maintain a positive attitude and makes his job more efficient. Mr. Segreto considers his most notable achievement helping to convert Elgin Community College’s Fire Science and Safety AAS degree curriculum to align with the Fire and Emergency Services Higher Education (FESHE) program.
